Reacting to the "Nemesis Patent" (droqen.com blog post)
In case you aren't familiar with the Nemesis system patent at all, it's basically a technical description of everything that went into the 'Nemesis system' that ran the orcs' relationships with each other and the player in the Shadow of Mordor series: they'd come back from the dead to claim revenge on you, or boast about their victories, or duel each other to the death in order to increase their standing. It's a neat system.
WB finalized their patent on this system earlier this week.
Tic-Tac-Crow is my attempt to use this system despite the patent's existence, but the game isn't very obviously Nemesis-ish (the theme is too cute and I present many things differently), so I thought I'd try to draw some attention to that aspect of the project a little more. Future devlogs will be more about happy bird game updates though :)
If you're interested in this topic, I wrote a blog post here about the patent (and a little about the story of how Tic-Tac-Crow came to be).
